A Prayer for our Veterans

Loving God, in your divine wisdom and love, you have given your people the precious gift of freedom. This is a most cherished gift that is threatened continually by enemies of freedom. We are able to enjoy freedom at the cost of great sacrifices of courageous men and women who serve our country with utmost dedication and patriotism. We humbly implore you to bless our veterans to whom we owe sincere appreciation and gratitude. Grant their families and all their dear ones your choicest blessings.
 
With your blessing and divine providence, it is our hope that the sacrifices of our veterans will ultimately bear the fruit of lasting peace and freedom. We pray for an end to wars. We pray that people "will turn their spears into pruning hooks", the "lion sitting gently with the lamb". We trust in your power and grace and we know that if people listen to your urgent call for genuine peace and true freedom, this world will be a better place, a place where all peoples and nations live together in peace and harmony. Keep our veterans and all of us safe in your love, always.
