After Three Major Blunders Janet Napolitano Should Be Fired Or Forced To Resign

… the bottom line is we ended up with a bomb on a plane with a detonator ready to go off -- that’s totally unacceptable.
Early on, this Administration sent a clear signal that they believed that the threat to the homeland from Muslim terrorists was not as significant as what it really is.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano had a policy of concentrating on manmade disasters, not on terrorism. The President stopped using the term War on Terror. Even after the jihadist in Detroit, our President makes no mention of fanatical clerics who encourage terrorism as the road to salvation.
We were given all the information before the problem arose and our Secretary of Homeland Security chose not to listen or heed. President Obama is promising to “repair the intelligence gaps” but there was no gap, the information was there, it was just not responded to.
Strike One - Underwear Bomber Makes It Onto A Plane And Is Finally Subdued By A Civilian
In November, the suspect’s father went to the US Embassy in Abuja, the Nigerian capital, to warn that his son was being radicalized in Yemen. A day later the embassy warned counterterrorism officials in the US about the father’s tip, but ultimately it was determined there was insufficient information to revoke Abdulmutallab’s US visa or to place him on a no-fly list.
While people like this are given clearance to fly, TSA is checking your shoes and “wanding” grandmothers.
Peggy Shapiro writes in her Dec 30 article Lethal Nonsense: “Immediately after the Christmas Eve incident, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told CNN that there was "no indication that [Abdulmutallab's attack] is part of anything larger," and further declared that "the system worked." (The incompetence of a Homeland Security Secretary who thinks that a faulty detonator and Jasper Schuringa, the brave passenger who subdued the would-be bomber, are indications of a working system is the subject of another article.)”
Strike Two - US Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan, And The Fort Hood Shootings

Then there is the case of US Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the Ft. Hood Shooter.
Instead of heeding the warnings about this domestic terror threat and stopping him, Secretary Napolitano again missed the obvious while still clinging to the belief that if you are a veteran, or pro-lifer, if you attend church or are stockpiling food for bad economic times, then you are more of a threat than the terrorists who have been identified by the system.
Strike Three - Christians, Veterans And Pro-Lifers The Most Dangerous Threat To The Country?
Although she does not recognize the threat of radical Islam, Secretary Napolitano does think we have domestic threats. The DHS document dated April 6, 2009, “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment,” says, “DHS/I&A assesses that lone wolves and small terrorist cells embracing violent rightwing extremist ideology are the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the United States.”
In the same “FOR OFFICIAL USE ONLY” document, she focuses on “veterans, groups or individuals dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.” I know lots of good people who tell me they are one issue voters. Generally, these are people who oppose abortion because of their religious beliefs. I do not know one of them who has tried to blow up an airliner…yet they are described as the most serious domestic threat we have.
She also draws attention to the danger of “the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists.” That is a slap in the face to the hundreds of thousands of returning veterans who are loyal and support their country. The document never once mentions the radical jihadists who are in this country and wish to “annihilate America and annihilate Americans.”
She has had 3 strikes. Secretary Napolitano should resign or be replaced.
