Will Harry Teague admit it failed?
HOBBS, NM - Today is the one year anniversary of the date President Obama signed into law the failed $787 stimulus package.
The Congressional Budget Office has stated recently that the stimulus package will cost $862 billion over 10 years because of the added unemployment-related costs. Cost increase of $75 billion.
Former Congressman Steve Pearce stated, “The stimulus was rushed through Congress, with the caveat, this must be done fast to avoid unemployment reaching 8%. Pelosi, Teague and the liberal Congress succeeded in passing the stimulus and it has failed. Unemployment has skyrocketed in New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District, with Luna County at 17.8%, Grant County at 11.6%, and Catron County with 10.1% unemployment.”
Pearce added, “It is time for Harry Teague to admit the stimulus has not worked. All of the unspent money should be returned. Jobs are not being created and we cannot continue to borrow from China and add to our country’s debt with the hope that this might work out. “
According to the Albuquerque Journal today, Former Gov. Toney Anaya, who is coordinating the New Mexico stimulus money stated, “only 40 percent to 50 percent of the money sent to New Mexico is expected to be used for actual job creation/saving, and not much of that is going to buildings and projects with long-term employment potential.”
Pearce said, “the formula for growing the economy and creating jobs is simple, control spending and cut taxes for businesses and individuals. That is the time tested way to create jobs.”

The economic stimulus bill
Now that we’ve suffered through one year of President Obama’s $787 billion economic stimulus bill, it’s almost comical watching Obama and his Washington buddies try to convince us that it was a success.
Don't believe it. Unemployment has risen to 10% and prospects for the future are not pretty. Why? Because every cent spent is borrowed. If there was any benefit at all from their stimulus, it could have only possibly been a tiny blip to employment numbers. Meanwhile, the anvil of debt will continually crush our economy and our employment prospects for generations.
The President and his friends have proven to be clueless about how our economy works and what it needs to grow. Perhaps because they lack private sector business management experience they fail to realize that their policies pore water on our economy, dampening long-term hope for jobs and prosperity.
But what possible excuse can Harry Teague have for voting for Obama's stimulus bill? After all, Harry constantly raves about his 30 years of business experience.
We need someone representing us in Congress us who can actually connect the dots, and that person is Steve Pearce. Steve has the proven business acumen and the experience in Congress that we need to protect our economy and create jobs.
