Democrat House Majority Fails to Pass 2010 Budget

HOBBS, NM – For the first time since the Congressional Budget Act was adopted in 1974, the Democrat House majority will fail to pass a budget in 2010.

“House Democrats will not pass a budget blueprint in 2010, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) will confirm in a speech on Tuesday.” (Jared Allen, “Dems won’t pass budget in 2010,” The Hill, 6/22/2010)

“New Mexicans are hungry for leadership in Washington. They want someone who will fight for them, their families and their future,” said former Congressman Steve Pearce.

Pearce continued, “Harry Teague and his Democrat colleagues would rather ignore the problems facing New Mexicans and attempt to hide the trillion dollar deficits they have racked up by not passing a budget than roll up their sleeves and do the hard work they were sent to Washington to do.”

“We need to create jobs and grow the economy by cutting taxes and reigning in the out of control spending. Harry Teague has failed to lead. I will not give up on New Mexicans and look forward to leading this effort,” said Pearce.
